This sadaqa jariya follows prophetic tradition.

It is based on the principle of a continuous act whose rewards continue even after the donor’s death, as taught in the hadith:

"When the son of Adam dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity (sadaqa jariya), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him."
