How to Calculate Zakat al-Mal in 2026?
Zakat al-Mal is the third pillar of Islam. It is an obligatory charity of 2.5% of net wealth held for a full lunar year (hawl), once that wealth reaches the Nisab threshold.
We've simplified the calculation into two categories: zakatable assets (gold, silver, cash, savings, investments, business assets) and deductible debts (amounts due within 12 months). Once your net assets are calculated, check if they reach the Nisab. If so, you owe 2.5% of your net wealth in Zakat.
